tender · 1844

Two unrelated notices welded into one chunk: (1) the Colonial Secretary's Port Macquarie provisions tender (supplies June-Dec 1844, tenders close 15 April); and (2) an absconder warrant - Thomas Holland, alias 'Old Tom Holland', a ticket-of-leave prisoner (arrived per ship Lady Harewood 1831, life sentence; aged 46, 5ft 7in, a carrier on the Sydney roads) charged with felony, absconded from the Queanbeyan district; constables directed to apprehend (Alfred Witts, Chief Constable). The current summary drops the absconder entirely.
